Church Yard Spring Clean . . .

The sun is shining, the grass is growing and we need to get things neat and tidy.   All Saints' Churchyard has been a place of Christian burial for nearly 900 years. It is a very special and peaceful place and I know we all want to keep it that way.

Just this morning I received a message from someone saying how much they loved our churchyard: “what a beautiful church, and what a superb rural location”.  We all have a part to play to make sure our churchyard is fit and honouring to all who are buried there.

In our Church Yard Spring Clean went well and we are going to continue making our churchyard tidier and in line with the guidelines we all signed up to:

Over the weeks we will be making sure our churchyard is abiding by these rules, so you may find things being tidied away or moved to allow mowing.  I know this is a subject that can raise strong emotions, and I am sorry if the spring-clean is upsetting to you.  However we do need to work together to make sure the churchyard remains a special place, that is honouring to God and to our loved ones who are buried there.
